Yesterday started out good. Everyone at work was in a happy mood. The big boss bought pizza for the department and instead of getting plain cheese or whatever bland veggie option was available, she ordered one with goat cheese & sundried tomatoes. Gab agreed to rent the studio to me for a month so I can try to get my class started. If I get just 3 students I can pay rent. I won't make much money, but it'll give me time to build. Then...

I decided to get a haircut after work. Been needing one for a while: I'd kept up with clipping out splits, but it had been almost two years since I had a real trim and I was looking ragged. I grabbed a pic of Gwyneth Paltrow's long layered cut and explained to the stylist what I wanted. Unfortunately I'd forgotten how much my hair stretches when wet, so the elbow-length longest layer turned out to be bra-band length after it dried. But it looked good, all the damage was gone, and my hair grows like a weed, so I was okay with it. Then I got home. EEK's reaction: "Oh my god! Why did you do that?"
:(
We decided to go out for dinner. On the way to the car I tripped over a curb and instead of stepping on solid ground to catch myself, my left foot landed in a hole and I rolled on my ankle. It didn't appear to be broken, so EEK helped me back upstairs and I elevated & iced it while we watched a movie. The pain just kept getting worse and the ankle swelled alarmingly though, so we went to the emergency room.
:(
Long story short, we spent four hours in the waiting room (FYI: Fridays nights are a terrible time to go to the ER). Nothing is broken, but I did sprain my ankle very badly. I was sent home with crutches, an immobilization sling, and a scrip for Tylenol 3.
Crutches are way harder to use than they look. On the bright side, my upper body will be getting a great workout for a few days.
No dancing at Khyber for me tonight and that private party I had Sunday will go to Gab or Karen. I had to crawl up the stairs to get into the condo, so I don't think I'll be leaving here for a few days. Good thing I like to read.
*sigh*
