Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!  
Quake! It hit downstate with a magnitude 5.2. Tremors lasted for about 20 seconds in this area. I felt it, but thought it was an airplane flying over the manse (we're near O'Hare airport). Luna & Spooker freaked out a bit. Old guy Roo slept right through it....so did EEK apparently.

The Big One is still coming y'all!

It's the talk of the midwest, this morning!

I woke up to a vibrating bed, and the sound of rumbling and everything in my apartment vibrating, and my first thought was, "OMGTORNADO!!!"


What amuses me the most is that the media is STILL in "Breaking News!" mode, even though it's been nearly three hours.

I was most amused that the news broke on my LJ friends list before major media.

Indeed, it took me about a page and a half before I got to a non-zOMGEARTHQUAKE! entry.

Plus, I was able to tell (before the news stations in Indy had confirmed anything) that it was widespread, based on the fact that people were posting from all over the place.

Freaky deeky. I remember an earthquake in Tennessee a few years ago, all we got in Wisconsin was a quick tremor and it was over before it even started. 20 seconds would have made me wonder if the 4 horsemen were coming and if I should repent!

I remember that one. Well, I remember more the surprise when I read about it in the news: "THAT was a quake?"
